A smart move for the only specialist Building College in the UK

52,630 ft² unt at Stourton Link industrial park has been leased by Leeds College of Building




New premises in Leeds are being leased by Leeds College of Building as part of its continuing expansion.

Leeds College of Building, the only specialist further education construction college in the UK, has leased 52,630 ft² premises at Unit 3, Stourton Link, on a £276,350 annual rent in a deal brokered by the Leeds office of property consultants, King Sturge.

Stourton Link is a newly-developed, 17-acre, manufacturing and distribution estate owned and developed by Royal London Asset Management less than a mile from the M1 and M621 motorways.

The college was founded in 1968 and is funded through The Learning and Skills Council is based in North Street, Leeds.  It has 7,000 students, mainly from within Yorkshire and Humber, and 350 staff and provides training in a wide range of construction and related trades for students ranging from beginners to experienced professionals.

Leeds College of Building support services director, Rosaline Scanlan, says: “The new premises were needed as the college has continued to expand over the last three years with student numbers rising by 40 per cent.

“The new unit meets our needs as it is easily accessible which is important for students. It is currently being used to run brickwork and roofing courses, short courses and other bespoke courses for industry will also be delivered there. It has allowed us to free up space at North Street and one of our other premises in South Leeds in order to provide additional courses”.
