Four in a row for Hyde Point

19 August 2008

Following recent deals Eon UK plc has taken a 665 m² (7,157 ft²) unit at Hyde Point in East Manchester

King Sturge has announced a fourth deal at Hyde Point in East Manchester. Eon UK plc has taken a 665 m² (7,157 ft²) unit for the storage and distribution of gas and electric meters. The company is paying a rental of £6.75 per ft² over a five year term on Unit 2.

This latest news follows recent deals to Norwood Partition Solutions which expanded its New Mills operation with the purchase of a 616 m² (6,629 ft²) unit at the Dunkirk Lane scheme in Hyde. Tameside and Glossop Primary Care Trust signed a 10 year lease for 550 m² (5,916 ft²) warehouse and Pearson Print also purchased a 445 m² (4,792 ft²) unit after relocating from Denton.

Nine of the 16 warehouses speculatively developed by Kilmartin Property Group are now leased or sold with a tenth currently under offer. Six units ranging from 445 - 1,495 m² (4,792 - 16,088 ft²) are left at the scheme located half a mile from junction 3 of the M67 motorway.

Jim Bryan, director at Kilmartin Property Group, commented: “Given the current market conditions, to have secured four deals in such a short space of time is great news for Hyde Point. The development is in a good location and the opportunity of being able to purchase premises has meant that we have received a great deal of interest in the units available.”

Richard Johnson, Senior Surveyor at King Sturge and joint agent with p3 and Colliers CRE, added: “Hyde Point is the only development in the area offering existing new build units on a freehold basis and this has generated strong interest in the scheme. Kilmartin has a reputation for providing good quality accommodation and this, along with Hyde Point’s location, has proved to be a winning formula.”
