King Sturge and James Barr on board to market Douglas Distribution Park

19 September 2008

The site offers a total of 163,016 ft² of space

King Sturge and James Barr have been instructed by Manchester-based property investment company Jaymar Estates as joint-agent to market Douglas Distribution Park at Glespin, near Douglas in Lanarkshire.

The park is the former Ramage Distribution site and offers a total of 163,016 ft² of space set on a 14.28 acre (5.78 hectare) site.  It is divided into 154,000 ft² of warehouse storage and distribution space, along with an additional 9,000 ft² of office and ancillary welfare facilities.  The warehouse space is arranged over a number of interlinking bays offering generous eaves height and undercover HGV loading space.

Cass Hibbert of King Sturge said:  “Douglas Distribution Park offers good quality warehousing and distribution space with flexible lease terms.  It provides an ideal solution for storage, distribution or logistics occupiers, seeking to trunk goods up from England, thereby offering a strategic satellite depot location.”

He continues: “Early indications suggest that there will be good interest in this site. We are offering rental packages starting from £2.50 per ft² and the landlord may consider disposing of the asset to a suitable purchaser.”

Yan Stewart of James Barr added: “The site would also be attractive for haulage companies, offering six acres of separate hard standing, along with HGV wash bay, spray booth and repair garage.”

Douglas Distribution Park is situated in a very convenient location, only four miles from junction 12 of the M74, offering good access to Scotland’s main motorway network, with Glasgow city centre being approximately 35 minutes drive away.
