Canynge Bicknell’s proposed 10 acre scheme in Street

Bristol based developers Canynge Bicknell have instructed King Sturge alongside local agents Greenslade Taylor Hunt to market their proposed new 10 acre business park in Street, Somerset.

A planning application has recently been submitted to Mendip District Council for approximately 140,000 ft² of space to include light industrial, general industrial, warehousing, trade counter and builders merchant uses.

Despite market uncertainty Canynge Bicknell hopes to start building toward the end of the year with units ranging in size from 700 to 50,000 ft² being available from spring 2009.

Mark Fitzgerald of Canynge Bicknell comments “we are particularly excited to be progressing Street Business Park.  We aim to provide modern buildings for a range of occupiers which is great news for Street and the surrounding area.  Being equidistant between the M5 motorway and the A303 London to Penzance trunk road the scheme will have excellent communications and we are already talking to interested parties with a view to reserving units in advance of construction”.

The scheme will be marketed jointly by the Bath and Bristol offices of King Sturge and Huw Thomas of the Bath office comments “Street Business Park is expected to create up to 500 jobs and offers a great opportunity for local, regional and national occupiers to operate from a high quality new business park in an area where there is a significant shortage of space.  Our clients are offering design and build solutions to suit occupier’s larger requirements as well as providing speculative units which will be available on either a freehold or leasehold basis”.
