01 August 2008

Proposed development of 173 residential units and 2500 m² of commercial space

King Sturge residential Planning has recently secured planning consent on behalf of Q Developments from London Borough of Southwark for a mixed use nine storey building containing 173 residential units and 2500 m² of commercial floorspace. The scheme was designed by award winning architects Q Developments and was highly commended by LB Southwark's design review panel.

The scheme was referred to the new Mayor of London's office by London Borough of Southwark and was the first major planning application considered under the Mayor's new planning powers which gives the Mayor power to act as the decision making authority. The Mayor commented that the scheme provided "a high standard of design, level of affordable housing, housing mix and energy strategy."

King Sturge has also provided affordable housing consultancy and agency advice and are hopeful of securing the residential agency instruction in the future.
