Land at Drakes Meadow sold to Allen Ford

‘Feeling the difference’ as the local Ford dealership relocates to a suitable site
Acting on behalf of Kier Property, King Sturge LLP has sold a 1.19 acre site at Drakes Meadow, Swindon to Allen Ford who is now on site constructing a new car showroom. Allen Ford has also exchanged contracts on a further acre site at Drakes Meadow where they have now submitted a planning application for the erection of workshop premises which will be associated with the car showroom facility.
Jeremy Sutton, Partner at King Sturge, who acted for Kier in the transaction, comments “Allen Ford had been looking for some time to relocate the Ford dealership in Swindon and Drakes Meadow provided one of the only sites available which is highly visible with frontage to a main arterial road. Drakes Meadow has always been an obvious location for car showroom uses and there is now a clustering of dealerships in this area, including Mercedes and Chrysler as well as the new Car Shop which opened in the former EMI premises which is directly adjacent to the new Allen Ford site”.
