09 December 2008

6.0 acres located at Junction 29 of the M5

King Sturge and joint agent Alder King advised on the sale of Summerfield Developments’ acquisition of the remaining 6.0 acres at Exeter Business Park.

Exeter Business Park is the largest and most successful Business Park south-west of Bristol and has attracted a wide range of occupiers in recent years including the MET office, EDF Energy, Regus, Ashfords and Telecom giants BT and Vodafone.

The Park now comprises some 80 acres, on which there is in excess of 750,000 ft² of office space, 172,000 ft² of industrial and a 140 bedroom hotel and public house.

The 6.0 acre site is located next to EDF Energy’s 80,000 ft² Gadeon House and overlooks J29 of the M5.  On the other side of the motorway is the proposed new Science Park for Exeter where Atass Ltd, Connaught Plc and First Data Bank are already in occupation.  The final phase is capable of delivering office accommodation totalling approximately 140,000 ft² in a range of sizes from 5,000 ft² to 100,000 ft².

The site has planning consent and will be developed on a design and build basis to specific bespoke requirements.

Summerfield has just completed the last building at Woodwater Park comprising 30,000 ft² which has been pre-let to RBS, Francis Clark and Brewin Dolphin.
