Network Rail has selected Kier Property Limited (Kier) as its preferred development partner for its 50:50 multi-site joint venture development vehicle in London and the South East. Kier was selected over St Modwen and Muse Developments after a competitive procurement process.
The JV vehicle will initially undertake mixed use regeneration of six station sites at Enfield Town, Epsom, Guildford, Maidstone East, Twickenham and Walthamstow and a further site at Wembley Cutting. The portfolio will have a gross development value in excess of £500 million. The vehicle is intended to provide a catalyst for sustainable regeneration in these areas and further sites in the future.
The establishment of the JV vehicle is expected to complete in June 2008 with commencement of work on the first stage sites proposed for early in 2009.
King Sturge Consultancy (Andrew Ludiman, Huw Davies, Lucy Asplin, and Matthew Walton) have been providing property and financial advice and advising Network Rail since May 2007 on the establishment of the JV.
