Planning appeal secures apartment block for Crest Nicholson in Portishead

12 April 2008

Permission secured for 110 apartments at Portishead Marina

The Bristol Planning Team has secured permission for Crest Nicholson for a seven storey apartment block comprising 110 apartments at Portishead Marina, Portishead following a successful planning appeal.

North Somerset Council decided to refuse the submission for Reserved Matters approval on a series of grounds including the building’s design and height, loss of sunlight and parking.

The site is in a prominent location within Crest’s successful Port Marine development at Portishead near Bristol.

The planning Inspector concluded that the proposal compiled with planning policies for the area, and that it will provide Portishead with a high quality landmark building.
