The Bristol Project Management team has just completed the fast track refurbishment of the 5W building at the University of Bath.

The project incorporated the following:-

• Removal of asbestos
• 3 refurbished Lecture Theatres
• New Pharmacy Teaching Laboratory
• New Physics Laboratory
• New super computer room

The £4.5 million project was contracted to complete in 22 weeks but completed 2 weeks early and under budget. The much needed lecture theatres were completed in 17 weeks to link with the start of term and have been in constant use since handover.

Martyn Whalley, Director of Estates, commented “we are very pleased with the performance of the team on this extremely tight programme and have received excellent feedback from the users”.
