7-9 Broad Street refurbishment project to reveal Jacobean gem
The Property Division of Bath & North East Somerset Council has concluded a development agreement with The Trevor Osborne Property Group which will bring about the complete restoration of 7-9 Broad Street in Bath and will reveal for the first time in generations a beautiful Jacobean courtyard building that currently lies hidden on the site.
The project, which will see the two organizations working closely together over the next few months, will see the building reconfigured to create nine flats, which will be offered for sale, reinstate the Jacobean building and provide three refurbished ground and basement floor shop units which Bath & North East Somerset Council will let.
Mike McElhinney of King Sturge, who advised Bath & North East Somerset Council in respect of the transaction, said: “This was a complex and sensitive negotiation conducted over many months in hardening market conditions. Bringing the matter to a successful conclusion demonstrated the determination of both Bath & North East Somerset Council and the Trevor Osborne Property Group to see a good outcome for this important group of buildings in Broad Street”.
