Planning permission was successfully secured on 18 February 2009 for Linden Homes in only 9 months from site acquisition regarding a residential regeneration of the former DEFRA site, Epsom Road, Guildford for 199 new homes. King Sturge acted as lead planning and development consultant working with architects John Thompson & Partners and lobbyists PPS.

Local resident groups publicly praised the applicants for an exemplar approach to community consultation. Linden Homes has publicly stated a commitment to commencing development immediately and the scheme contains properties ranging from 2-5 bedrooms. 35% of the new homes will be of an affordable character.
