King Sturge wins top accolade for retail services

King Sturge ended the year with a bang when it was named the Property Managers Association Retail Consultant of the Year for 2009.

The award by the PMA – whose members include some of the retail industry’s most powerful players – serves to highlight King Sturge’s growing stature and reputation in this highly competitive property sector.

King Sturge Retail Partner James Hall received the trophy from PMA President Joe Simons and event organiser Louise Oliver at the PMA Christmas lunch at the London Hilton Metropole on 17 December.

James comments: “We are really thrilled to receive this award from the PMA, many of whose members we work closely with on a range of instructions and projects across the UK. The fact that they have voted us the best retail consultant of 2009 demonstrates their confidence and faith in the services that we provide.”

The 65-strong retail team at King Sturge provides the full complement of retail services, from location planning to asset management, and encompassing agency, consultancy and professional. Its work stretches across the UK and Europe - especially Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) – and it has an exclusive tie-up with ChainLinks, the leading retail property adviser in the US.

In 2009 alone, the team settled well in excess of 500 rent reviews, significantly added to its shopping centre management/development portfolio in the UK and CEE, actively advised over 60 retailers and operators and substantially broadened its experience of retail recovery work through such high-profile administrative appointments as Coffee Republic, BB’s Coffee & Muffins and Qube/OSC.
