New Co-op store for Plymouth

A major Plymouth City Centre development opportunity has been purchased by Plymouth & South West Co-operative Society Ltd.

4-8 Hoegate Street, fronting Notte Street, part of the inner city ring road and close to the Barbican, has been acquired for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £1,200,000.

The purchaser will trade a foodstore from the front section, recently vacated by HSS, and commence a refurbishment programme of the former job centre to provide circa 12,000 ft² of offices to let.

Plymouth and South West Co-operative Society Ltd was represented by King Sturge.  Andrew Hector, Partner at King Sturge commented “This is a highly visible site fronting a major city centre route and we are pleased to have secured the property for our client amidst competing interest from other foodstore operators.”

James Carter, of Plymouth and South West Co-operative Society Ltd commented "This is one of a number of sites that we have recently acquired for new convenience stores.  The office element of the property has the potential to provide good value accommodation for occupiers who want to be in the city centre."
