Local asset backed vehicles
King Sturge is at the forefront of establishing ‘Local Asset Backed Vehicles’ (LABVs) as the regeneration funding and delivery model of choice for the public sector through Property Regeneration Partnerships (PRPs).
King Sturge has advised four Regional Development Agencies (ONE, EMDA, NWDA and AWM) in the creation of LABV type structures that are already in operation and delivering on their objectives. These four vehicles have entailed the investment of over £400m of property in 50/50 partnerships with leading private sector regeneration experts such as Igloo Regeneration Ltd.
The potential impact on the regeneration sector for local authorities embracing this new approach to regeneration is enormous, in terms of leveraging in private sector finance and heralding a new culture of genuine partnership between the public and private sectors.
